Brew Recipe

This coffee works well for all brew methods.

Filter: Dose 15g-16g, water 250g.
Espresso: Dose 18 gram to 40-42 gram yield over about 30 seconds.

The Nova blend is roasted a touch darker and will also suit shorter extractions ie. 18 gram dose to 36 gram yield.

Visit our brew guides for more tips and suggestions.

Our coffee blends

Our coffee blend selection pack contains the following four blends:

Workhorse - a light roast blend showcasing tasting notes of chocolate, sweet caramel and nuts

El Zumo - a juicy, fruity blend showcasing tasting notes of berries, brown sugar and chocolate.

Nova - a medium roast blend with lower acidty and tasting notes that include dark chocolate, nuts and sweet caramel.

Organic - a medium to light roast blend of organic certified producers. Tasting notes include chocolate, apple and caramel.

Are these beans best for Espresso or Filter?

This is a question we are often asked. Our general approach to blend creation and coffee roasting is to focus on what is often known as the 'Omni' roast. This means we don't roast specifically for filter or espresso but rather to showcase great flavours through a variety of brew methods.

You should find these coffees all work really well for filter, cafetiere, Aeropress and similar brew methods. Your personal taste preferences will likely determine which blend you prefer via your chosen brew method.

All of our blends are also suitable for espresso brewing, the Nova blend is typically the easiest to brew for espresso as it is roasted slightly darker with a focus on lower acidity.

If you are specifically looking for single origin coffees then we'd recommend our Single Origin Coffee Selection.

All have been roasted within the last few days. I have tried two so far and both are of excellent quality. The organic is not quite to my personal taste but the Zuna is stunning.
I will be back for more. Don’t buy coffee from a supermarket- it cannot compare to this.

My First try at a Local Coffee Roaster

So far my impression is good. I choose a blend selection and so far have only opened one. That has been really good, both for making the coffee and for drinking. The smell when I opened the packet was amazing :-)

I prefer to by a selection rather than 1kg of one type of coffee.

Tried the “sample” packs first, loved those so bought the blend selection. Nice stuff, really enjoy it and my go to for a selection of coffee :)
