Meet The Producers

The majority of farms in this area are small and cover just a few hectares. These farmers are grouped together into associations, this helps to consolidate costs and allows farmers with small areas of land to work together to produce larger lots.

Harvesting & Processing

Each small-hold farmer will hand harvest from their trees often on farms less than 5 hectares in size. After harvesting ripe cherry the coffee is rested then pulped and fermented before drying on patios or raised tables. Some producers might not have space or equipment to process and dry their own coffee. In this case, they will deliver harvested cherry to a centralized washing station for processing, similar to the harvesting and processing process in east Africa.
