Guatemala Red de Mujeres - Coffee of the month
We've got another fantastic coffee of the month to share with our subscribers starting from all orders sent out on the 1st of September. This one is another exclusive preview for our subscribers before the coffee becomes available for everyone else!
It's been a long time since we've had coffee from Guatemala. This is an origin with many incredible producing regions, high altitude and fantastic soil.
This coffee is organic certified and comes from a group of women coffee producers all who lost their husbands during the civil war and coffee crisis of 2001-2004. As a group, these women are stronger together and are able to produce fantastic coffee as a co-operative.
Varietal – Caturra, Bourbon and Typica
Preparation – Washed
Location – San Antonio Huista, Huehuetenango
Altitude – 1700-1950 masl

The Red de Mujeres, or 'network of women', is a large group of female coffee producers covering five different areas of Huehuetenango. The group is made up of 830 women. Within the entire community of women there are 8 different Mayan languages spoken, highlighting the diversity of culture and language in this area of Guatemala.
Tasting Notes:
This is a great example of a classic Guatemalan coffee that is so much more than just an ordinary washed central American coffee! We love the clean but rich body with notes of raspberry and plenty of milk chocolate.
